We love our pets, and they are welcome to come to church for a special blessing. Join us for an informal service in commemoration of St. Francis on Thursday evening, Oct 8, 7:30 PM. Your pets are invited to attend – suitably leashed or caged – for a special prayer of blessing. A simple communion will be celebrated. This is a fun and unique family service in the parish hall.
Update – Thank you to all of the volunteers who worked so hard to renew our church worship space (the “nave” in Anglican English!). All is refreshed for continued worship and ministry for years to come, with a fresh face. The amount of volunteer time invested in this project is in the order of 160 hours, or a full month of a full time worker. On behalf of the worshipping community, a warm thank you to Ewart, Judith, Judy, Beverley, Gary and Pres. And thank you to all those who responded to our campaign offering financial support. Together we are building a promising future for a ministry of hope and continued blessing.
Oct. 5 – Work began this week to refresh the sanctuary with a new coat of paint, to be followed by new carpets. For two weeks while the work is being done, we will be worshipping in the parish hall (October 11, 18) .
If you are an early bird and normally attend the 10:30AM service, we invite you to attend the 8:15 AM service, to help balance out the congregations between the two services. Please join us as we give thanks together!
To celebrate our common faith and our diversity, we are planning a Mardi Gras evening with dinner, steelpan music, some fun (limbo) and evening prayer to help us prepare for the season of Lent.
We will begin gathering at 6:30- 6:45 pm and our diverse dinner begins promptly at 7:00 pm. Dinner will include a choice of roast beef and mashed potatoes or jerk chicken, as well as other food from the warmer climes. Pancakes and sausages are served for children.
Following dinner and dessert, we will move to the sanctuary for a half hour informal evening prayer service to prepare us for Lent.
Dinner tickets are on sale, please contact Katharine – $10 for adults, $4 for children (pancakes).
Come celebrate together!

Thanks be to God for all who contributed time, treasure and talent to such a successful Walkathon 2015 – as of July 12, $14,723.00 has been collected! Well done team SPOTH and friends. These funds have been sent to Faithworks to the Pikangikum water project: providing clean water to the homes of fellow Ontarians. Well done!
Thanks for the wonderful day camp. Have a blessed summer and see you in the fall! 75 wonderful children learned that God has the power to provide, comfort, heal, forgive, and love forever. [Read more…]
Family life is under great pressure today and parents face bewildering choices about how to parent effectively. Discovering we are not alone in the challenges we face and picking up ideas from other parents can make a huge difference. We can all learn how to make even the happiest family better.
Starting on Sunday, Sept. 20 and running every other week for a total of 5 sessions. We’ll meet at 12:00-2:30pm in the Parish Hall, enjoy a simple lunch as a family and then dive into the course together while children are being taken care of downstairs.
There’s no cost to register, however a donation will be accepted to cover the cost of lunch and there’s a workbook that each family receives at the first session, its cost is $10.
Questions? Email Brian and Naomi.
Sunday, Sept 27 at 10:30am will be our Kick-Off Sunday with the Blessing of the Backpacks; a special time of prayer for students, teachers, administrators, and all support workers; potluck BBQ immediately following with bouncy castle, moon cakes to celebrate the Moon Festival, and other children’s activities!
