Rev. Ajith Varghese, deeply rooted in the church, comes to St. Philips with more than 23 years of experience in clinical pastoral care and psychotherapy. As a certified clinician, educator, and supervisor, he has been teaching and supervising Master’s students who are in the final years of their seminary or psychotherapy studies. Born and raised as a priest’s son in the episcopal tradition of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar, a reformed oriental orthodox church in the Anglican Communion, Rev. Ajith’s connection to the church is profound. He brings a passion for pastoral care, counselling, teaching, and preaching, a passion that is deeply ingrained in his upbringing. Educated at prestigious schools in India and Canada, Rev. Ajith currently serves as the Manager of Spiritual and Religious Care and Educator for Clinical Psychospiritual Education and Psychospiritual Therapy at Scarborough Health Network. Rev. Ajith is an adjunct faculty member in the Pastoral Department of the Toronto School of Theology, University of Toronto. At St. Philips, Rev. Ajith is an assistant curate.
Rev. Ajith Varghese is a dedicated professional with a rich personal life. He enjoys walking, cooking, photography, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his beloved wife and two children.
