Surviving the Holidays

Surviving the Holidays

Monday. November 30, 2020 @ 6:30-8:30 pm via ZOOM

We are conscious that many grieving folks dread holiday time, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years cannot be recreated.

“Surviving the Holidays” is a one time 2-hour gathering that offers support for people as they face challenging situations and circumstances associated with the holiday season. Participant booklets at a cost of $10 to defray costs will be available to pick up at the church-kindly call Katharine at 905 477 1991 to arrange a time.

For more information go to griefshare.org or contact Virginia Clark Weir (647 962 1627 or virginiaclarkweir@nullgmail.com) or Rev. Stephen Kern (skern@nullspoth.ca).

To register, please go to griefshare.org, enter your postal code, click on ‘Find a holiday event’, click on the St. Philip’s-on-the-hill notice, and enter your information.

Come as you are. God bless you and your family.

Harvest Donation Drive

In leu of collecting canned goods and harvest produce in person this year, we are moving online to collect monetary donations that will go toward the Yellow Brick House.

We have been supporting the Yellow Brick House through our Harvest Drive for many years now. The YBH is a shelter for abused women and children.

Domestic violence increased drastically during the Covid pandemic. Many women were forced into isolation with their abusers. Making a donation today would help immensely.

Donate by dropping off a cheque at the church or through our donation button the menu to the right.

Parents Prayer Time: Back to School

A time for parents to lift up their children to the Lord as they head back to school, whether that be online or in person. No matter what choice parents have made, school will look and feel different this fall. Let us gather together as a community to pray and ask God for wisdom and peace for parents and for resiliancy and protection for our children.

Please contact Pastor Amy to RSVP and receive the Zoom code.

Drive Thru Blessing of the Backpacks

Join us this year for an adaptation of our Blessing of the Backpacks service. Due to COVID restrictions, we will be having a drive-thru blessing this year. Drive on over to the church, bring your kid’s backpacks and receive a blessing from Reverend Stephen and Pastor Amy. Students will receive a backpack tag to commemorate their blessing and to remind them of God’s presence through the school year.

Thursday, September 3rd 7:30pm-8:30pm.
