Sunday School Prayer Rainbows and Skittles

Our SPOTH Sunday School learned about the Rainbow of Prayers. Together we focused on prayer itself, how to pray, and what to pray for. What a great way to explore and see the power of God and Prayer in a STEM Experiment with Skittles during our Children’s Worship.

SPOTH Sunday School and Youth Programs Lenten Cross and Practices Journey 2024

Our SPOTH Sunday School and Youth Programs Lenten Cross and Practices Journey 2024 began in February on Week 1 of Lent. This Palm Sunday, we finished our collective 6 Week Journey focusing on the Lenten Practices of Prayer, Alms, Good Deeds, and Fasting (we gave up treats or choices like not sharing with others). During the 6 weeks, we shared how we have a better understand of Jesus’ experience through these practices. A thoughtful and dedicated Lenten experience from our SPOTH Youth.

SPOTH Youth and Family Glow Party Movie Afternoon – October 31, 2023

This year, on October 31st, 2023, our Youth and Family Programs enjoyed the return of our annual Glow Party. Our Youth Groups participated in “Wear Your Costume and Movie Afternoon”, where creatures, characters, and unique beings were in attendance. Lots of tasty treats and tons of fun were had by all. Our Drama Groups are always a good time, and we had a great fun in our costumes as we rehearsed for Youth Sunday. We hope you will join us next year and be part of the Joy where we all Glow Together.

SPOTH Annual Harvest Hoedown

Howdy! The Annual Harvest Hoedown on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, was enjoyed by all and a fantastic time! We put on our western wear and joined each other on the dance floor with Bill our professional caller and his lovely wife Marilyn. They led our intergenerational group through some square dances, line dances, waltzes, and the macarena, where smiles, clapping, and laughing abounded. The pictures say it all. We also partook in a delicious Chili Dinner made by our attendees that is such a tasty special treat. This SPOTH event is certainly a crowd-pleaser, and we look forward to seeing you all next year. To God Be the Glory. All Praise to Him.

The Fall Harvest Dinner during our October 10th, 2023 Shared Family Meal was plentiful with fellowship, gratitude, and thankfulness. We broke bread together in a group of more than 25 people and enjoyed the cooking by both of our Youth Groups. The menu included roasted squash, baked potatoes, roasted sausages, buns, and baked caramelized apples for dessert. Thanks be to God. All praise and glory are His.

SPOTH Lunar Festival and Shared Family Meal for our Youth and Family Programs

The Youth and Family Programs Lunar Festival on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 was a wonderful time of learning, sharing, cooking, eating, and fellowship that connected us all to this special time of year. We were 25 plus attendees with lots of smiles, laughter, and tons of noodles!

We began with our youth participating in their Drama Programs with Carlynn and Joanna to rehearse and prepare for our First Youth Sunday for the Fall. Good times!

During Youth Groups, we were fortunate to have Linda as our keynote speaker and a poster module from Maggie to guide us in the history and traditions of the Lunar Festival. Our learning was interesting and connected us more deeply to our church community and ourselves.

This led us to the Parish Hall Kitchen where we prepared traditional side dishes to accompany our plentiful and delicious Noodle Dinner. The Youth Groups Chefs prepared a lovely feast that ended with Moon Cakes shared by all at our first SPOTH Shared Family Meal for the fall season 2023.

We are thankful and grateful.

God is Good.
