About a dozen lay visitors stay in touch through telephone and home visits with those who are unable to come to church.
These gifted and dedicated people visit become a “soul friend” to those who can no longer attend church or other activities due to sickness, age, or other infirmity. Visitors begin their ministry after training and screening, and are then introduced to their “visitee”.
This “Ministry of Listening” is one that Jesus himself commanded his followers to perform when he said, “visit the sick, the elderly and those in prison”.
