Signs of Life through Lent

Our Lenten Program 2020

Light-Water-Food-Shelter-Community…..
these are the elements of life that we depend upon each day. These signs of life are also means by which God speaks to us on the journey of life. This year, please join us as we explore these signs of life through Lent.
Each Sunday in March, we will focus on one of these signs in our worship and preaching.

  • Your Artistic Creation is Invited!
….Pastor Amy writes….” We welcome you to journey through Lent by creatively expressing your thoughts and ideas through art. Please consider using the weekly themes as a starting point for a drawing, painting, sculpture, poem, dance or any artistic expression. We will celebrate parish creations at Easter Vigil with a visual display of our Lenten inspired creativity.”
  • Getting Connected in Small Group…
…Each Monday evening in March, I (Stephen+) will lead a small group study from 7:00 PM-8:30. We will share coffee and dessert before we watch a video on the theme of the week. Sign up for the small group in the lobby….
  • Participate at home at your own pace…
You can also follow this series by going to, and signing up for a daily email from SSJE that has a teaching video included.www.signsoflife.org
  • A daily practice calendar and a practice sheet for each week available to the congregation.
  • Morning prayer will be offered Thursdays in March, from 10:00-10:30 at the church.

May the Lord bless us together in the Holy Spirit, as we seek to make a holy Lent this year. Stephen+
Here’s a prayer for you to begin your Lenten practice….
“O Lord our God, grant us grace to desire you with our whole heart: that desiring you, we may seek you; and that seeking you, we may find you; and that finding you, we may love you; and that loving you, we may forsake those sins from which you have delivered us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
