Graduation Celebration
Join us as we congratulate our grads! We have youth graduating from grade eight and grade twelve and we want to wish them well on the next journey of their lives.
We will have a celebration cake after the 10:30am service during coffee time on Sunday, June 9th.
Come and support our youth and encourage them as they continue on their journey.
Walkathon
May 5th, Walkathon
We are walking to support the summer camp program for Indigenous youth at GRUNDY LAKE. Money raised will send indigenous children (many of whom live in foster care in Toronto) to an Aboriginal based camp, run by Native Child and Family Services Toronto.
We will have a shortened 10:30am service and begin our walk around 11:30. Sponsorship sheets available at the church, or donate online.

Patronal Festival Sunday – May 26, 2019
Mark your calendars for the first of our SPOTH 180th anniversary celebration events!
We will be honouring our Patron Saint, St. Philip, in a special Patronal Festival service on Sunday May 26, 2019 at 10:30am. We will gather at 9:45am to “Beat the Bounds” o our church property. This is an ancient custom modernized. We will carry banners and walk the boundary of our property, singing and praying, and then gather for the 10:30am service. A free light luncheon and cake to follow. Come celebrate our God, our Saint and our historic church.

Lent is a season of engaging with practices that help us be more responsive to God. We have planned a number opportunities to help you make your Lent a Holy season.
- Join us over Lent for a six-week journey of reflection on time produced by the Anglican community of the Society of St. John the Evangelist. Rev. Stephen is leading a group meeting on this series throughout Lent, beginning on Monday evening March 11th, 7:30 PM at the church. - Morning Prayer on Thursdays at 10am in the Sanctuary
- Children’s Worship – Each Sunday at 10:30AM, children from JK-Grade 9 will focus on growing in their understanding of God. Through exploration of lenten practices, through a variety of activities, children are given an opportunity to develop their faith.
St. Philip’s is also participating in the Markham-Unionville Ministerial’s Sunday Evening Lenten Series. There will be a service for each Sunday in Lent, hosted by a different congregation. St. Philip’s will be hosting an Evensong service on Sunday, April 7 at 7:00 pm.

Holy Week and Easter
Palm Sunday April 14 – 10:30AM service with palm processional. Enjoy the celebration by processing around the church waving palm fronds while singing Hosanna!
Maundy Thursday April 18 – 6:00pm Interactive Family Service (with hand or foot washing), 7:30 pm Evening Service
Good Friday April 19 – Family Service 9:30am includes activities meant to bring deeper understanding of prayer and the significance of Good Friday for the whole family.
Good Friday April 19 – Service 10:30am A solemn service to mark Good Friday
Easter Vigil April 20 – 7:30 This ancient service begins in darkness and ends in light, recognizing the resurrection of Christ.
Easter Sunday 8:15 & 10:30am Services, Mandarin Gathering at 12:30pm – Celebrate our Risen Lord together! Children (JK and up) can participate in Sunday school where they will take part in interactive centres and learn about Christ’s resurrection. Easter egg Hunt for children ages 2-10 will occur after the service. Bring a basket.
